Kendall Tavern Inn Bed & Breakfast Belgian Buttermilk Waffles
This is a great recipe to mix ahead and save in your refrigerator to make mornings easy!
Mix in Bowl:
4 cups flour, 4 tablespoons white sugar, 4 teaspoon baking powder and 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
At this point you can save this as your base and when you are ready to make waffles add 4 cups of buttermilk, 2/3 cup oil, 4 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla(optional)
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together until evenly combined. Whisk buttermilk and oil together in a separate bowl, add eggs. Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients. OK to be lumpy, but make sure your batter is on the wet side. Add more buttermilk if needed.
Use your waffle iron and enjoy your breakfast!
Time Saving Hint: making in bulk can make breakfast even easier – I increase this recipe to fill my favorite container. When making smaller amounts I use 2 cups of the mix, 1 egg, 1/3 cup of oil and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
