It’s 2021 and we have a new website!
Welcome to our new website – are very pleased to have worked with ILoveinns to create a more vibrant and user-friendly site. You will notice that it is ADA compliant as well.
We are sure that 2020 was a challenging year for all of you. We appreciate so many of you staying in touch with us over this past year.
We are fully vaccinated and ready for your visit – we missed you!
What happened at the Kendall in 2020? Aside from this new website project, we have been working on creating an apartment in our barn, on the first floor of where we live. It will be a short term rental by the week, and ready before the season, so stay tuned for information on how you can stay. It will be a fully renovated (from scratch!) 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with great living space. Perfect for a family, or 4 people traveling together.
We did get to travel in March of 2020, although not to Europe as we had planned. We drove to Florida where we had our first ‘spring break’ experience on the beach and visited Mobile on our way to New Orleans. We settled there for a week visit family before rushing back home with all the Canadians as they tried to get to the border before Canada shut it down. It was a strange time! This winter we enjoyed a January week in Rockland, Maine – saw more of Mild-Coast Maine and have more ideas for your travel there while you stay with us.
We used our shut-down time to do renovation to the Inn, and enjoyed every minute of week-long visits with our granddaughter. When we opened it was with all Covid restrictions in place, and our inn was rather quiet most days. We enjoyed the company of guests, many of them had visited before, and it was like old friends had returned. It was a much slower time!
We were very fortunate to receive funding from the state of Maine, through the Cares Act, as well as some from relief on our mortgage from the SBA. It has enabled us to continue on and move forward into 2021 in good shape. There will be many more years at the Kendall Tavern Inn Bed & Breakfast.
Looking forward to the new Maine spring summer and fall season – we sure hope you will be able to join us. Keep an eye on the State of Maine’s web sites that we share in OUR POLICIES section on this website so you will know before you go. We can’t wait to see you!
Safe travels,
Nancy & Mark
